This Louis XVI period mirror has been completely restored after someone in the 1980s slathered it in pink paint. I think it's a wonderful result. the mirror is in two sections because in the 18th century before the industrial revolution they couldn't make large, flat glass to be transformed into mirrors. You can see examples of this at the hall of mirrors in Versailles. See less
