How gorgeous would this be on your buffet table? Fill it with salad, fruit, cranberry sauce, crackers, dessert and more. Also lovely with floating candles or flowers. Or a spectacular place to drop your keys!
Early American Pattern Glass (or EAPG for short) is clear or colored glass that is pressed into beautifully intricate pieces—like this outstanding footed compote with a ruffled or "pie crust" rim—as well as cups, cake stands, teacups, and bowls. It is also referred to as pattern glass, pressed glass, or Victorian Glass, and was made from 1850 until about 1914.
L.E. Smith Glass started in 1907, in Mt. Pleasant Pennsylvania and is famous for the “Moon & Star” pattern, a re-make of an 1800’s pattern by an older company. Many glassmakers picked up and/or modified the pattern—a particular is a favorite of collectors.
