It turns out that MOVADO, the company known for elegantly designed and precision-crafted watches, diversified for a time, producing, as well, barware and glassware of exceptionally high quality. (I found several examples: a pitcher on 1st Dibs, a cocktail set and a pair of crystal vases on Etsy.) I haven't been able to confirm when Movado moved into this category, but the items I've seen suggest mid- to late-20th century.

Anyway, regardless of when it was produced, this cocktail shaker, with its clean, elegant lines, is a thing of beauty. And with its substantial capacity, weight and height, it's a real stand-out.

The body is of glass (or crystal) with a permanently affixed, glossy stainless-steel rim. The cap and filter pieces are smoothly removable and have a matte finish. The base is acid-etched with the iconic MOVADO logo.
