The colors and … Read more This handcrafted autumn colored floral crewel work is from the 1970's Paragon Kit #0106 " Fall Bouquet". The colors and workmanship are lovely and warm toned in neutral colored thread which appears to be wool. The basket holding the flowers is actually woven textile in the basketweave pattern. Fall Bouquet is set in a solid wood frame, probably walnut and behind clear and unscratched glass. There is no mat so the entire frame area is filled with texture.
I had to replace the paper backing as the original was torn and noticed that it is signed by the original crafter, Elaine Mead of New York.
A lovely vintage sample of handcrafted textile art.
