Signed lower right, 'Dorothy Garrett' (English, 1908-2000) and painted circa 1955; additionally inscribed verso, 'Griffith'.
Born Dorothy Mabel Ellen Herring, Dorothy Garrett studied at the Ipswich School of Art under George Rushton [q.v.]. Garrett worked as an Art Therapist at Ipswich Group Hospital and was a member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Club and the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle. She exhibited with success in Ipswich and Bury St Edmund's as well as in London and Paris.
