Pedro E. Guerrena
The author and photographer of Calder at Home, Pedro E. Guerrero began his photographic career in 1939 when Frank Lloyd Wright retained him, at the age of twenty-two, to document his buildings and the Taliesin Fellowship of architects. Guerrero continued to record Wright's work over the next two decades, until the architect's death in 1959.
Guerrero's photographs of Wright appear in Picturing Wright:
An Album from Frank Lloyd Wright's Photographer (1994.
Pomegranate Artbooks) and have been shown in books, magazines, and exhibitions in the United States and abroad.
The first of his Calder photographs were collected in the book Calder (1966, Van Nostrand), with text by H. H. Arnason. Guerrero's photographs of Calder have appeared in numerous other books and exhibitions since then, including the book Calder's Universe (1976, Viking), edited by Jean Lipman. Another of Guerrero's well-known subjects has been the sculptor Louise Nevelson. He lives in New Canaan, Connecticut, and Florence, Arizona.
