This Congo chair is a classic design by Theo Ruth for Artifort. Period: 1950s. Beautiful in its simplicity. Theo Ruth was the pioneer of Artifort's design tradition. He made special designs such as this Congo chair and the Pinguin chair. He was inspired by a chair from Africa for this design, which is also where the chair owes its name. Still equipped with the original fabric. The chair consists of a wooden frame in which 2 separate parts hook together and can both be disconnected. Considering its age in good vintage condition.
