The monumental medallion of striking red that dominates the piece is a brilliant articulation of the Bakshaish tendency to utilize bright, rich tones. Similarly, the abstract geometric design elements that pepper the field of blue are a typical Bakshaish element, their careful lines and unique shapes characteristic of an ancient concept of design that is as powerful to behold today as it has ever been. Geometric figures of alternating color populate the paneled border, each seemingly dancing in its own square. The strength of the overall composition of this splendid Bakshaish lives in its rich colors, abstract geometric figuring, and graphic boldness, which combine to create a beautiful and representative piece of art.
