One of California's Mission settlements lies on the Central Coast in Carmel, depicted in this landscape oil painting. The Spanish architecture is the first known to California's establishment, and in this image we see three figures who appear to be working, set amongst the Santa Lucia Highlands Mountain Range in the background with a soft pastel sunset sky.
