Born in the Western portion of India in the state of Gujarat, this exquisite hand carved temple sculpture features a woman and her feline companion. Topped with a delicate headdress and wearing nice clothes and jewelry, the woman is depicted in a frontal position, her head slightly tilted to the side. She is holding a small musical instrument and is accompanied by a stylized feline. Charming our eyes with its nicely weathered appearance, traces of polychrome and nice proportions, this early 20th century Indian temple carving from Gujarat, unfinished in the back, will enliven any wall beautifully.
