The Têtes pitcher was created in Vallauris, France in late 1940's, early 1950s. Pitcher is known for its distinctive design featuring a stylized face, incorporating human features -eyes, nose, mouth-- into the pitcher. The Têtes pitcher is an example of Picasso's ability to transform everyday objects into works of art, blending his playful experimentation with ceramic form and his talent for abstract design.
