A delightful French walnut footstool, early 20th century, with stylized barley twist carvings on the turned legs. The rectangular top is formed with two planks, studded at each corner with forged iron nails, resting on a carved apron, very similar to joint stools of two centuries prior. The ensemble is elevated by four turned legs carved with a twisting, fluted design and connected in pairs by plain side stretchers. With its light patina and lovely grain pattern, this stool will bring a touch of authenticity to any space, whether for seating or as a small side table.
