Born in Komarom, Hungary, Kacz was initially a … Read more Signed lower right, 'Komaromi-Kacz' for Endre Komaromi-Kacz (Hungarian, 1880-1969) and titled, 'Molm'.

Born in Komarom, Hungary, Kacz was initially a pupil of Eduard Ballo, a specialist in portraits and genre, at the National Academy in Budapest. He continued his studies under Simon Hollosy, a Hungarian genre painter who established a private school in Munich, Germany. Komaromi-Kacz furthered his studies in Belgium and Holland for a year, after which he returned to Budapest to attend the School of the Masters, where he studied under Gyula Benczur for four more years.

In 1918, he held a one-man show at the Hungarian National Salon in Budapest and, in 1924, he was granted a solo show at the Palace of Exhibitions. Over the course of a long career, Komaromi Kacz was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards and his work may be found in public and private collections, including the permanent collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.
