Offered is a 1972 Limited edition art book, "Friedlaender Etchings Eaux-Fortes Radierungen", a collection of art plates of the etchings of German/French artist Johnny Friedlaender. This book was owned by the family of an artist, friends with Friedlaender, and is missing the dust jacket, slip case, and attached 3 lithographs originally issued with this publication. While the book is in much loved and enjoyed condition, this book might be the only book we would recommend for purchase to cut as plates. His etchings were his specialty and these are modernist, brutalist, and very mid 20th century European chic. Perfect for a gallery wall, a library or den.

Johnny Friedlaender (26 December 1912 – 18 June 1992) was a leading German/French 20th-century artist, whose works have been exhibited in Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Japan and the United States. He has been influential upon other notable artists, who were students in his Paris gallery. Johnny painted using oils and watercolors but his preferred medium was aquatint etching which is a technically difficult artistic process, of which Friedlaender has been a pioneer.

The art plates are intact with no stains or creases, and this book would be best for someone hoping to find modernist plates to cut and frame. Any wear is commensurate with use. less
