Tall elegant backs with sculptural detailing on top crest and lower back rest, featuring elegant cabriole front legs and tapered splay back legs.
All six wood chair frames are identical (aside from the upholstery) and have been restored and French polish refinished in a dark walnut color. They are solid and in very, very good condition.
The cushion seats and backs in the original artificial pony skin textured green upholstery are of the period and thus need to be re-upholstered. One of the six chairs was actually re-upholstered in a beige fabric just to show how the set could look when rejuvenated with new upholstery in a different color. The photo of the entire set of six chairs in beige is to be used only as an example. As mentioned, five of the chairs are in the original green upholstery and one chair is in beige fabric. These original period chairs are architectural, sculptural and streamline and would be an asset to any room setting whether Art Deco, Traditional, Modernist, Italian, Transitional...
