Here is a fabulous asian inspired modernist watercolor painting by Doris M. Carter! Dr. Carter was a tenured Art professor at Worcester State University, a well regarded Liberal Arts college in Massachusetts for many decades. We had the privilege of acquiring several pieces that were released by her estate and are offering them for the first time here on Chairish.
She was a seasoned world traveler, and clearly had a penchant for China and Chinese painting styles, as you can see with this selection of paintings. Her use of color is sheer perfection, and these pieces really evoke a sense of nostalgia and whimsy.
This offering is for a large scale watercolor, depicting a serene cabin in the woods, set among a vibrant bright yellow-green lake, titled 'Spotlight on Yellow Green #2'! The watercolor paper measures 18" by 24", and is mounted on foam board.
