Signed in the right hand and edition marked in the left hand corner by the artist. It is titled Femme Sur Fond Blue. He was born Max Ihlenfeld in Berlin but spent much of his childhood in Florence Italy. In 1909 he moved with his family to Milan and then came in contact with the then city's avant garde circles. His life span was 1895-1971. He was an Italian painter and journalist that blended influences from ancient art married with Etruscan art yet with a modern day sense. His signature style is characterized by two dimensional Hieratic figures of staturesque form reminescent of archaic like paintings. Alfredo Lam's influences are apparent. He was originally involved with the Futurist movement in Milan but his real influence came after studying Cubism. At one time he also collaborated with Piero Fornasetti. on some lithographs. He spent his final years in St. Tropez.where he died in 1971 just after 10 years he did this work of art.

This frame is over 35 years old and is not in the best condition. it is silver leaf with a large mat. The exact size of the lithograph is covered up by the mat. We would recommend a new custom frame. See less
