This wonderful textile dates to the 1870s and was likely printed in Mulhouse, France. lovely aged white ground with Gorgeous intricate floral and exotic bird pattern in red, yellow, and black tones. The yellow dye was likely fugitive dyed, and appears unstable since it has vanished in some places, or just faded a bit in others. Such a stunning roller and hand block printed design on a cotton fabric with perhaps some small linen content! This piece is constructed from 3 long panels. The selvages are intact on each panel underneath side hems and the seams. Sturdy medium weight Ideal for many projects or this curtain could be hung as is; this fabric could be used for a pillows, curtains, clothing, quilting, etc! Measurements: This lovely curtain measures approximately 41.5 inches wide at the gathered top, 96 inches wide at the bottom and 102 inches long.

Condition: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. This textile has faded unevenly. There are very pale age marks or foxing on the ground of this piece that may or may not wash fully and a few small stains. Along the bottom edge there are some small tears and holes, mostly in the center, and there are a few other tiny holes near the other edges and in the center of this textile. The bottom edge is cut unevenly. The top where this is gathered has some tiny rust stains. The yellow dye appears to be unstable and has vanished entirely in some spots, or just faded in others. lovely, sturdy condition! Ideal for cutting projects, hanging or design inspiration!
