“Il Tatto” (The Touch) is a work by Robert Rauschenberg, created specifically for the series Cinque Sensi (The Five Senses). This series was a commissioned project in which Rauschenberg explored the five human senses—touch, sight, hearing, taste, and smell—through his signature mixed-media and collage techniques.
Rauschenberg, a pioneer of the Neo-Dada and Pop Art movements, was known for blending painting, photography, and found objects to create layered, thought-provoking compositions. Il Tatto (The Touch) incorporates textural elements and materials that engage the sense of touch, aligning with his experimental approach to perception and sensory experience.
Robert Rauschenberg’s Il Tatto (The Touch) was created in 1974. This work is signed and numbered 1575.
