Delicate and beautifully serene, this antique watercolor painting by Ethel Christison gracefully captures the romantic charm of Venice. Rendered with a subtle, masterful touch, the painting depicts the iconic Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute and traditional sailboats gently reflected upon tranquil Venetian waters. With soft pastels and intricate architectural detail, Christison effortlessly conveys the timeless elegance and quiet beauty of the city.
It would obviously benefit from a nice quality mat and frame, and I will leave that choice to the buyer. It measures 10" wide by 12" tall (matted size) and has a sight size of 5 1/2" by 7 1/2". It is in good overall condition as shown in the photographs, with age appropriate wear. The matting has some light staining and the painting has some toning from normal age and UV exposure.
