A small hand-painted Gold Imari ginger jar from Japan, made around the 1960s. Red and cobalt blue plum blossoms outlined in gold run around the white porcelain body, set between bands of gilt clouds.
The domed lid carries a dense red, blue and gold pattern and rises to a pointed gilt finial. It is a compact size that suits a bookshelf, mantel or side table, alone or grouped with other blue and white pieces.
Measures 5 inches wide by 7 inches tall.
