It was featured in Vanity Fair magazine … Read more This is a chromolithograph (color lithograph) print caricature of Thomas Merthyr Guest (1838-1904.) It was featured in Vanity Fair magazine November 11, 1897 as part of a series called "Men of the Day.” The lithographer was Vincent Brooks, Day & Son. The artist was Francis Carruthers Gould, "CG." It depicts Guest riding a grey hunter in a pink (red) coat with a pipe in his mouth. He was a wealthy landowner as well as Master of the Hunt of the Blackmore Vale Hounds for many years and owned more than 20 pairs of hounds. He was married to Lady Theodora Grosvenor Guest daughter of the 2nd Marquess of Westminster. She wrote a book Hunting Journal of the Blackmore Vale Hounds From 1884-1888.
