This antique relic is beautifully decorated with hand engraved designs on the top of the metal lid and a very long wooden handle. Bed warmers or warming pans were household items used in countries with cold winters, especially in Europe. They were usually made with a metal container and typically fitted with a handle and shaped somewhat like a modern frying pan, with a solid or finely perforated lid. The pans were filled with embers and placed under the covers of a bed for warmth or drying of wet bedding. This piece makes for great decor and has tons of personality! Please note it has age appropriate signs of use with minor denting on the metal and scrapping on the wood (see photos - priced accordingly).
