Dimensions: 8 ¼” H x 51 ¾” W x 30 ¼” D
An enormous French basket from the late 19th century, likely used in a bakery or boulangerie for displaying baguette or other breads, if not in the vineyards for harvesting grapes. Long bamboo sticks in parallel arrangement are held to a sturdy wooden frame, surrounded by tightly-braided wicker sides. Two sturdy handles facilitate easy carrying of the load.
