About the artist:
Guy Bardone was trained at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris under Maurice Brianchon, Jean-Jules Cavailles and Francois Desnoyer.
Bardone’s work focused on still lifes and landscapes that captured a poetic feel of the moment. Light, mood, and form come together in compositions that are romantic visions of spaces we would like to enter and occupy. Although indebted to the Impressionist and post-Impressionists – especially Nabis painters including Bonnard – Bardone’s work stands on its own.
Guy Bardone’s work is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Gallery (DC), Musee de l’Abbeye (France), the Musée National d’Art Modern, and Musée d’Art Modern de la Ville in Paris.
