This large hand-carved granite farm trough was discovered on a property in Normandy, France. The gray stone has developed patination that gives accents of green, ochre, and brown. Granite is formed when magma penetrates existing rock, and in the case of this particular stone, there are very visible intrusions that make for a unique aesthetic appearance.
A small drainage hole on the side allows the trough to be utilized as an outdoor planter or farmhouse sink, although the hole could be plugged so that the trough can function as a basin for a fountain as well. Our granite trough from Normandy has numerous applications and would add a rustic French country vibe to wherever it is utilized.
