A Lobi bronze of a Bird ; the bird is appreciated for its protective powers and is considered a powerful amulet amongst the Lobi.
Cast using the old technique of lost wax, whereby a wax model is hand-shaped, then surrounded by a mold of clay; molten bronze is poured into the cavity containing the wax figure, the wax liquefies and drains out leaving the metal piece. Objects cast using this technique are all unique and an original, as the clay mold is destroyed after each casting.
