A beautiful hand-tied vintage Turkish Oushak Kilim rug. Original, authentic, circa 1960s; Turkey.
Largely symbolic, the meanings expressed in kilims derive both from the individual motifs used, and by their pattern and arrangement in the rug as a whole. A few symbols are widespread across Anatolia as well as other regions including Persia and the Caucasus; others are confined to Anatolia. The main theme of this rug is protection and abundance.

Oushak (or Ushak) rugs are a distinct type woven around the western Turkish town of UÅŸak. A typical Oushak rug has a design of angular geometric or large-scale floral elements. The colors tend to be muted, soft and pastel. They have relatively larger knots of glossy wool or mohair. Overall, they display a relaxed, unfussy yet sophisticated and elegant look. They were originally very popular in the 19th century, and are undergoing a strong revival.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

Cancellations

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

- Chairish In-Home Delivery
