Materials: Mahogany, Poplar and White Pine secondary, Gilt bronze, Marble
Maker: Attributed to J. and J.W. Meeks of New York City
A bold American Classical pier table, circa 1835, in rich flame mahogany veneers. An Egyptian marble top over an ogee apron is supported by dramatically scrolled brackets. An original mirror reflects a serpentine lower shelf in book-matched mahogany and adorned with gilt bronze mountings. This piece remains in untouched original condition.
