Beautiful 11.5” TALAVERA POTTERY plate. Made in Mexico. Handmade & Hand Painted. The plate has holes for adding a hanging wire. This plate has edges that are slightly raised, as seen in the photos.
I love the bright cheery colors in this plate. I can see this in a southwestern, western, or rustic lodge or adobe home. It’s great in a colorful collection or alone.
Condition is preowned, but it is in very nice condition, free of chips, cracks, stains, or scratches.
Talavera derives its name from "Talavera de La Reina" in Spain (famous pottery center) and the influence was brought to Mexican Spanish colonialism in the 16th century.
This unique Talavera style is indigenous and unique to Mexico, where these bowls are hand crafted, hand painted, and then glazed.
