This is a Very Nice Looking and Rare - Hard to Find Vintage 1930S Cast Iron Figurative Borzoi - Russian Wolfhound Dog Doorstop. It was Made by The Hubley Manufacturing Company - USA. As Noted - Documented in "The Doorstop Book" that Hubley Actually Produced this Model in 2 Different Size - Larger & Smaller Versions. This one ( Hubley Model #327 ) is Rendered in Their Smaller Size ( 8 inches x 11 3/4 inches ) - Book Value $450.00 to $550.00. Oddly Enough this Smaller Size Appears to be a bit more Scarce - Has a Higher Value than the Large Size ( 10 3/8 inches 16 7/8 inches ) at $350.00 to $450.00. It is in Very Good Condition with No Damage or Repairs to the Castings but NOTE That that Original Factory Hubley Paint was White and it Has Since at Some Point in the Past Been Repainted in Black and Red. I have been Dealing in Doorstops for Many Years and I have found it Quite Common with Dog Doorstops that they were Known to be Repainted by Same Breed Dog Owners for Obvious Reasons. It has Very Good Detail in the Casting - Much Better in life than in My Photographs. It is Absolutely Guaranteed to be Original and Vintage as Stated.
