Paul Klee ( 1879 - 1940 ) The Swiss born artist is attributed to creating some of the most original and colorful paintings of The 20th Century. Klee was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany. His work reflects the styles and ideas of Symbolism, Expressionism, Cubism, as well the simplicity of the Bauhaus designs. Art works by Klee are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

The lithograph print features an artwork image originally created by Klee in 1940 titled " Doppel ( Double ) ". The lithograph print was printed in 1960 in Japan in an unnumbered limited edition. It is a page from an authentic vintage 1st edition artists publication.

The lithograph print plate is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand to the page on 3 corners. The title and date of creation of the original artwork are printed on the reverse back side of the page. This print is suitable for framing.

The print image measures 6 1/2" W X 9 7/8" H, on a page that is 8 1/4" W X 11 1/2" H. It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling to the page backing.
