It was printed in Italy in 1959 … Read more This outstanding Marino Marini color silkscreen (a.k.a serigraph) depicts an abstracted female figure. It was printed in Italy in 1959 in an un-numbered limited edition. To the best of my knowledge the edition was limited to 1000. Printed on one side only and signed and dated in the plate. Marino Marini (Italy, Switzerland 1901-1980), one of the 20th century's most famous modernists, was known for his abstracted images of horses, jugglers and women. This is a rare series. Dimensions: 17" x 20" (Mat); 11" x 15" (sight). Housed in a paper passeportout.

Using the "Dietz" method, the color images in this series were reproduced using not only the original colors, but also reproducing the three dimensionality of the brushstrokes. This results in the print actually presenting as the original drawing or painting
