Portmeirion artist Susan Ellis-Williams came up with the idea for Botanic Garden in 1972, when she was looking through rare books and discovered a volume of beautiful, meticulously drawn floral illustrations. The launch of Botanic Garden included 28 different flowers and was an immediate success.
From the Portmeirion website: "Creating a stunning mix and match collection for the table and home, Botanic Garden from Portmeirion is built for modern day living – its pretty botanical illustrations belie its strength and durability and its chip resistant glaze makes it the perfect collection for busy family homes."

Though traditional in style, they are perfect for every day use, being dishwasher, microwave, freezer and oven safe. A set of six cups/saucers in their original box.
