A vintage Iron Art Denmark cast iron casket box. The rectangular shape box has a hinged lid, handles to the sides, and footed base. The front depicts a scene from the 1219 Battle of Lyndanisse, during the Estonian Crusade of King Valdemar II of Denmark; in the image, Bishop Sunesen raises his arms as a red and white banner falls from the sky, inspiring the Danes to victory. The interior of the box is lined with wood, with an etching to the lid telling the story of the battle in English and Danish. The box is marked “Iron Art Copenhagen Denmark” to the back.
