The piece is made of silverplate and is perfectly functional for drinking tea. It's a special piece used for drinking Argentinian Yerbe tea. The base of the straw has small holes to filter out particles from the tea. It is marked 'Alpacca Eberle' on the base. The stem has a pretty and ornate decoration.
