These would have been items collected during the "Grand Tour" or educational journeys that wealthy 19th century Europeans took through major cultural centers like Italy. During these travels many would acquire art and antiquities, including sculptures. Statues are all standing on round bronze bases. The bronze material gives them a rich, classical look. See less
