Shigemichi Aomine was born in Kagawa, Japan in 1916. He attended a sculpture course at Kagawa Craft School and after his first solo exhibition in 1954 , he went into woodworking producing simple forms inspired by nature.

Originally intended for serving sushi, its elegant, organic form and warm teak grain make it a versatile and timeless piece. Whether used for presenting canapés, hors d’oeuvres, or an arrangement of fresh crudités, it elevates any dining experience with understated sophistication.
Beyond its culinary function, this tray seamlessly adapts to everyday living—it serves as a refined jewelry drop on a nightstand, a stylish resting place for keys in an entryway, or a sculptural accent on a console table.
