These extraordinary shot glasses have thick heavy glass bottoms and are highlighted with green on the edges of the facets and in red on the holder / vase. The very simple and sleek Art Deco design of these glasses is very similar to the geometric and color block designs of bohemian designer Karl Palda and also have the character of some of the artisans of the Moser glass production facility of the time. This glass set is not signed like many bohemian pieces of the era. Each of the glasses measure 2 3/4" high and vary in width on the top from 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" and 1 1/8" deep. The holder / vase measures 3 7/8" high and 2 3/8" wide and 1 1/4" deep at the top. A striking set for a bar, adding a wonderful, unexpected design element to a contemporary setting. Makes a great gift for a design afficionado!

Notes on Karl Palda:
Karl Palda who established his glassworks in Haida, Novy Bor, Bohemia in the early 20th century is famous for his avant garde designs in hand blown crystal, etched clear and matte satiated glass using complex geometry like these glasses listed. His work was a clear departure from classic 2-toned crystal with floral designs of the period and integrated new concepts from cubism, the avant garde and Art Deco styles emerging at the time. Palda concentrated on producing sets of drinking glasses, decanters, vases and vanity items. See less
