The sculpture is bronze and suitable for outdoor use. The sculpture will require periodic waxing, as all outdoor bronze will oxidize. You could not break the sculpture by sitting on it, very thick bronze. The sculpture is anatomically correct, however the bottom of the sculpture is hollow.
The artist David Parvin passed away in 20014. He was an accomplished artist, writer, sculptor and helicopter pilot. This sculpture has an edition of 9, but only 3 were cast in his lifetime and the molds for the bronze have been destroyed.

This sculpture would be perfect for a pool or an outdoor area. The right foot and hand both are meant to hang over the edge of the base, whether that be a pool, or pedestal (not included).

David Parvin (1946-2014)


David Parvin was born in the Midwest, raised in the Northwest, and lived in Colorado for over 30 years. Parvin's primary subject is the human form executed in a classically realist manner. Though principally known for his bronzes, he has also worked in wood, concrete, polyurethane, polyester, Forton MG, pewter, acrylic, glass and raku. Parvin has become internationally recognized also as a life casting expert and has contributed many new techniques and materials to his art form. He was one of the artists to be honored with a lifetime membership in the Association of Lifecasters International and is one of only six to be certified as life casting instructors by the same institution.
