In 1965 the group was at their peak, riding on a string of #1 hit singles, including "Where Did Our Love Go" "Come See About Me" "Back in My Arms Again" - and their 2 biggest hits "Stop in the Name of Love" and "Baby Love." - and on their way to another five #1 hits in 1966.
For a pop group to play at Lincoln Center was a rarety. This concert was a testament to the group's immense popularity.
