Handmade, large refined terracotta basket centerpiece features intricately crafted fruits. The decorative sculpture, with its rustic charm, adds an ornamental element to a table setting.
The tramp l’oeil woven basket is richly garnished with luscious fruits spilling over the edges. The terracotta basket is treated with a rarely used technique of covering the surface with white glaze, which adds a dramatic contrast to this piece. Fruit basket sculptures were popular during the Baroque period in Europe.
Condition is very good. Wear commensurate with age and use.
