Herati rugs are quite well known among the different styles of Persian rugs. Instead of originating from a specific area, these rugs are categorized by their designs and patterns. Herati rugs can be classified as slightly similar to Persian rugs that have inherited its designs. Tabriz rugs and Bidjar rugs are two such examples. However, these rugs surfaced in the western market somewhere in the early 19th century, lacking the antique nature of the Herati.
