The rug is made from vegetable … Read more Hand knotted in the village of Serab, northwest Persia in the late 19th century. The rug is made from vegetable dyed wool knotted on a wool foundation. Serab is the collecting center for some of the hardest-wearing runners in the world. The pieces are also known for the camel color used in the field. Later Serab rugs have an unattractive synthetic red, but this one has the genuine vegetable dyed red derived from madder root. See less
