It was … Read more This beautiful C1930s Cane Stand has been owned by one person who lived to be 106 years old.
It was always placed in the hallway as a decorative piece since the owner never had to use a cane. It was always a conservation piece and a joke about the fact that she never wanted to use it because it was so beautiful.
Weller Pottery began in 1872. 1902-1905–Weller becomes world’s largest pottery and maker of mass produced Art Pottery. Weller started producing high quality, artistic pottery pieces including vases, umbrella stands and flower pots. This has been identified as the "Ivory Line". Weller ware marked on bottom. A Neoclassical motif with acanthus leaves. Embossed Floral Scrolls Medallion.

1872 - 1949
Samuel A. Weller (1851-1925) took up the pottery business in 1872 in Fultonham, Ohio, where he made jardinières, hanging baskets, umbrella stands and painted flowerpots. In 1880, he moved to a small building near Zanesville, and then in 1890 to a newly built structure in Zanesville. This plant burned in 1895, but was rebuilt immediately.
