A pair of rare elegant large First Edition vintage photogravures (prints) of pencil and watercolor drawings by Rudolf von Alt, depicting The Old National Theater in Budapest and and The National Museum in Budapest. Both pieces were originally lithographed by F.J.Sandmann in 1937 and 1951 accordingly. First Edition as photogravures/prints. Comes from a rare First Limited and Only Edition art book published in Budapest, Hungary in 1959. Printed on one side of high quality heavy paper. Detailed. Soft warm colors. Excellent quality and condition - never framed.
Each piece is 15.25"W x 10.5"H
Rudolf Ritter von Alt (1812 – 1905) was an Austrian landscape and architectural painter. Born as Rudolf Alt, he could call himself von Alt and bear the title of a Ritter (knight) after he gained nobility in 1889.
