I'm not sure if truer words were ever said! This is a very sweet bottle coaster made by The Wilton Co. of armetale, a pewter alloy that is safe to eat off and is more sturdy than pewter.
The coaster is 6 3/4 inches in outside diameter, 4 1/4 inches in inside diameter and 1 3/4 inches high.
