It is Italian and is very heavy. The lucite top alone is thick and has height and weight. It needs two hands to put on the brass base. Makes a great cocktail addition or desk accessory. This came from a private collector who furnished many pieces from their home from Casa Bella. We have never seen another one. The brass was polished lightly and the interior is bronze mirror. It does not get any better than this one! Most unusual. In recap it is rare. Casa Bella was very forward at the time in design and innovation. They are no longer in business for many many decades. This is a piece de resistance of a very spectacular and special box. Rings rich. The lucite top alone weighs over 10 pounds. See less
