This hand knotted wool vintage Persian Mahal runner features a stepped lozenge center medallion with four anchor pendants floating amongst a hexagonal paneled field. Each panel contains stylized lotuses, vines, rosettes, leaves and six-pointed stars. The stepped corner spandrels echo the large blossom motif that adorns the center medallion. The wide lotus meander main border is offset by a sawtooth inner border and a rosette and pinwheel outer guard border. Unexpected touches of robin’s egg blue and coral energize the otherwise classic red and navy blue color scheme. This charming vintage Mahal runner would enliven any space with its graphic appeal and magnetic allure.
