Old tinaja of Calanda (Teruel), Spain.
Made of red clay with handcrafted circular figures and two handles.
A "tinaja" is an oval terracotta jar with a narrow mouth and foot, usually without handles. The large jar, also called "tinajón", deeper and paunchy, has traditionally been used to store wine, and medium-sized, oil and cereal grains.
